Vancouver Island Driving School is Nanaimo’s premier source for new drivers to learn how to safely navigate our streets. We proudly produce confident, competent, and aware drivers. This academy’s driving lessons are created to meet your schedule. When you learn with our Nanaimo driving school, we emphasize the importance of safety, respect for traffic laws and the inherent commitment required when driving on public roads. Not only can you expect to learn how to get around Nanaimo safely in your vehicle. You will also learn how to read and understand all the road signs. Furthermore, we will teach you to recognize all potential hazards and learn the expectations of your ICBC class 7 & 5 roadside tests.
*A 15 dollar registration fee* is required from all students. This fee is tax-free and allows each student to book lessons online, and view all evaluations. Upon payment, a code will be provided for you to log in and register at Schedule2drive.com.

This option is recommended only for experienced drivers looking to sharpen their skills before a class 5 driver test. Typically one lesson is not enough we recommend no less than three.

*Important Info About Our GLP Course*
Vancouver Island Driving School is in partnership with Wallace Driving School in Victoria B.C. In order to sign up, you must go through Wallace Driving School. All in-car road lessons will be conducted in Nanaimo with Vancouver Island Driving School.
Our GLP program is approved by ICBC. Successful completion of the GLP course within 365 days of the learner phase entitles a learner to two High School credits.
The student may be eligible for a six-month reduction off their “N” if the student remains at fault crash-free and point-free for 18 months.
The in-class instruction consists of theory sessions (totalling 3 days) in small classes and is designed to fit the students’ schedules. teenSMART certification is recognized by all insurance companies in North America for a discount (except ICBC).
